Until this year, .com, .net and .org were the only global Top Level Domains (gTLDs) available for public registration. In response to the rapid adoption and expansion of the Internet, ICANN has recently approved seven new gTLDs, the first of which, .info is scheduled to go live shortly!!
Since the new .info domain is the only new unrestricted domain out of the seven new gTLDs, it is expected to be widely accepted as the one ‘true’ alternative to the existing .com .net and .org domains.
